 Experience * Trust * Innovation
Samuel Adenbaum collects
approximately $190 million annually in School, Township and County taxes
and Township Sewer fees. This amount is the largest collected by
any municipal tax collector in the Commonwealth and ranks only behind
Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in collections.
Sam Adenbaum has an MBA from the Wharton School
with emphasis in accounting and transportation, and graduated cum laude from
Lafayette College. Sam has over twenty-five years of experience in corporate
management, including in the Finance, Purchasing, Transportation, and
Information Technology departments at Conrail where he served as
Assistant Vice President and head of the Information Technology
department. Through STA Technology Consulting, Sam provides
financial and information technology consulting services to businesses
and individuals. The combination
of business, finance and technology experience and skills make Sam
Adenbaum the best candidate to lead the Lower Merion Township
Treasurer's office.
Bruce Reed, President of the Lower Merion board of Commissioners
says, "Sam Adenbaum has brought two critical talents to the office
Township Treasurer, combining his business background with an extensive
knowledge of information technology.
As a result, he is progressively revolutionizing the
operation of the office of Township Treasurer, providing greater
efficiency and accessibility for Township residents."
Since being appointed by the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners in
January, Sam Adenbaum has been a hands-on Treasurer.
On a daily basis, he directly manages every aspect of the operation of the office.
He is always accessible to the public, the Township, School Board and County.
As John McKelvey, former Chief Financial Officer of Conrail noted,
“Sam’s character and moral values are inimitable. His judgment is flawless.
During my business career, I have never worked with anyone who
could consistently improve processes and operations as much as Sam.”
Sam Adenbaum wants to continue to provide
outstanding service to the taxpayers of Lower Merion Township.
Modernizing the Treasurer’s Office to improve efficiency, he has
been automating every aspect of the office and using the latest
technology to track payments and manage operations. He has
implemented new accounting software to manage internal operations and
ensure that tax collections are handled promptly and residents do not
overpay. The Treasurer’s Office has adopted digital archives to
reduce costs and improve quality. Sam
Adenbaum has made tax bills available on-line to ease communication
between residents, mortgage companies and the Township for fast and
accurate answers about taxes, and to facilitate on-line payment of taxes
for their convenience. These innovations will help to ensure a fiscally sound
Lower Merion Township, so that it can retain its AAA bond rating and reduce expenses.
Sam Adenbaum will work with the Township and
School District to introduce new software to track all
taxpayer receivables from a single software database, further improving
the efficiency of the office. Sam Adenbaum's financial and
technology skills make him the best person to manage this transition.
Sam Adenbaum is a long-time, full-time, year-round
resident of Lower Merion. He
lives in Bala Cynwyd with his wife, Gilda Kramer, and their two
children, Jacob and Benjamin, who attend the Lower
Merion
public schools.
