MAIL-IN and ELECTION DAY FAQs
Mail-in ballots have been arriving across the county! As our voters begin filling out their ballots, we have learned there are some inconsistencies on SOME of the yellow “directions” inserts that may be causing confusion. We have also been fielding several general questions. We thought it would be helpful to share the most frequently asked questions and their answers. If you don’t find the answer to your mail-in ballot questions here, please reach out to your committee person for assistance. Click here to find the contact info for your committee person.
What color pen should I use to fill out my ballot? You can use blue or black ink to fill out your ballot. While we recommend BLACK ink, blue is fine. NO OTHER COLORS SHOULD BE USED.
How do I fill out my ballot? Fill in the circle to the RIGHT of the candidate you are voting for. Fill in the circle completely. DO NOT USE AN X OR CHECK MARK.
How do I find out who the endorsed candidates are? You can find your MCDC sample ballot here. The only endorsement in a contested race for this primary cycle is Christina Hartman for Auditor General; all other races are unopposed or open primaries.
How many DNC delegates should I vote for? Voting for delegates is simply voting for who will be going to National Convention. Voting for delegates has NO impact on how many delegates a candidate receives at the convention. You may vote for delegates pledged to different candidates. Voters in CD-5 may vote for up to 9 delegates. Voters in CD-4 may vote for up to 10 delegates. You may vote for fewer if you wish.
What do I do with my completed ballot? You can send your ballot in the return envelope via regular mail, but we recommend you mail NO LATER THAN MAY 26 to ensure that the ballot arrives by June 2. After that, we recommend that you use the official drop boxes where you can return your ballot; the closest one to Lower Merion and Narberth is in Norristown at One Montgomery Plaza in the lobby. A complete list of drop boxes can be found here. BE SURE TO FILL OUT THE VOTER DECLARATION ON THE BACK OF THE RETURN ENVELOPE.
If I am interested in helping at the polls who do I contact? If you or someone you know are interested in helping out as an inside worker, please reach out to Voter Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or 610-278-3275. (These are paid positions at an increased rate of $300 for Judge of Election, $225 for all other positions.)
